LOUISVILLE – Ida Frances Asher, 86 of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on November 26, 2021. Ida Frances Asher was born August 23, 1935 in Cockrell Township, Chariton County Missouri, to Oscar and Ila Cook. She went to school in Keytesville, Missouri. Frances married Carlos Asher and they had three children – Carl Wayne, Glenn, and Amy. After her second marriage she moved to New Albany, Indiana in 1974. Frances had a varied career, including layout work at a publishing plant, a cosmetologist, and a sales person for yearbooks and later, commercial furniture. It kept her very busy, and she enjoyed traveling. She eventually moved to Louisville and kept working until she married Jim McClelland. They enjoyed traveling and Jim’s veteran’s groups. Over the years Frances attended United Methodist Churches.
Frances was preceeded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ila Cook; her son Carl Wayne Asher; her husband James J. McClelland; her sisters Ivah and Lila and brothers Roy and Sam. All were of the Kansas City area. She is survived by her sister Twila and brother Andy of the Kansas City area; son Glenn and his family of Radcliff, Kentucky; and daughter Amy Bickley and her family of Louisville Kentucky. She had four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 PM Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline. Graveside service will be in Beulah Cemetery in rural Salisbury following visitation.
