Having lost his balance as he split defenders on his drive into the paint, Northwestern High School Eagle Trey Stockwell avoids a turnover by shoveling a shot toward the basket just before he hits the floor during the fourth period of last Saturday’s third-place game against Meadville in the Northwestern Invitational tournament at Mendon. Stockwell’s effort was rewarded when the ball caromed off the bottom of the rim right down to teammate Hayden Harms (left), who quickly hit a follow shot. The haphazard points proved critical as Northwestern eventually won 41-40. NHS followed that with a 72-8 rout of Carroll-Livingston Activity Association foe Breckenridge on the road Tuesday.
