Shirley Lea Briggs

Our mother, Shirley Lea Briggs, age 89, of Brookfield, passed away Thursday morning, January 5, 2023, at the Neighborhoods Arbor Court in Columbia, Missouri. She suffered with Alzheimer’s and had been in nursing facilities in Columbia for the past ten years

Shirley, daughter of Ernest Carl Langdon and Clorah Mable (Pipes) Langdon, was born April 12, 1933, in Menno, South Dakota.

Shirley had many friends, and worked at Medical Arts Pharmacy in Brookfield for many years, and she sold Avon products at one time. She really enjoyed her grandchildren and getting together with friends. Her favorite hobby was going to garage sales.

Survivors include: a daughter, Shannon (Wyatt) Spiers and husband, Rick of Smithville, Missouri; and a son, John Wyatt and wife, Gena of Columbia, Missouri, and five grandchildren; three girls and two boys.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Clorah Langdon; three brothers, John Voris Langdon, Ernest Langdon, Jr. and Roy Arthur Langdon; and two sisters, Letha Doris Burnett, and Reba Maxine Wood; and two husbands, Richard Lee Wyatt and Kenneth Ward Briggs.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Brookfield
