The Chillicothe R-II School District has announced that a staff member from the Grand River Technical School (GRTS) has been placed on indefinite leave following allegations of conduct in violation of the district’s board policy. The district has initiated an investigation into the matter.

In a statement released by Superintendent Dr. Dan Wiebers, the district emphasized that the decision to place the staff member on leave is a precautionary measure aimed at ensuring the safety of students and staff while a thorough investigation is conducted.

The district has already shared relevant information with the Chillicothe Police Department, as they prioritize student safety in response to the allegations. “The safety of our students is our top priority,” said the district’s statement, adding that no further details will be released at this time to comply with confidentiality laws.

The investigation remains ongoing, and the district assures that they will not disclose any further information about the employee or the students involved at this time.
