The Marceline City Council will hold two public special session hearings this week, starting with the public hearing on Tuesday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m., in the Marceline R-V High School Auditorium. The second hearing will be held at the Council Chambers, Marceline City Hall, on Wednesday, Dec. 4, at 11 a.m.
The first hearing, which concerns the utility rates increases set for the year 2025, will allow for public comments and concerns to be voiced regarding the new rates. Rates are set to increase as follows—1) Water Rate Increase, 5%; 2) Electric Rate Increase, 13%; and Wastewater Rate Increase, 5%.
The second meeting, held on Dec.4 at the Council Chambers (Marceline City Hall), regards an Ad Valorem Tax Abatement Request by the Marceline-Bucklin Enhanced Enterprise Zone Board for Nature’s Grace and Wellness, Missouri, a business located at 3015 North Runway Drive in Marceline.
