BROOKFIELD – Downtown Brookfield is gearing up for its annual Summer Fun Days festival, set to take place June 19-21. The three-day event will be packed with family-friendly activities, entertainment, contests, and community engagement at Twin Parks and surrounding downtown areas.
The festivities kick off Thursday evening with a youth beauty pageant at the East Twin Parks Pavilion. Registration begins at 5 p.m. with the pageant starting promptly at 6 p.m. Contestants can enter various age divisions ranging from Little Mr. & Miss (ages 4–6) to Queen (ages 16–18), with entry fees ranging from $5 to $10. This year’s pageant theme is “Tropical Paradise,” encouraging participants to embrace vibrant island-inspired attire.
On Friday night, the spotlight shifts to the ever-popular Truck Show & Shine and Cruise Parade. From 6-7:30 p.m., trucks will line up, judged in multiple categories including Best of Show, Best Modern, Best Classic, and more. People’s Choice voting will take place during this time, with winners announced at 7:45 p.m. The Cruise and Parade will follow, with line-up beginning at Trinity Methodist and the parade starting at 8:15 p.m.
Saturday brings a full schedule of events starting early with the YMCA’s Color Run at 8 a.m., followed by the 3-on-3 basketball tournament, car show, and baby show. Vendors and kids’ activities—including bounce houses—will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Highlights of the day include a cornhole tournament hosted by Hole Lotta Luck at 10 a.m. and the car show awards ceremony at 1 p.m.
The celebration will close with a Saturday evening Summerfest concert hosted by the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce. Gates open at 5 p.m. with live performances beginning at 6 p.m., featuring Elephant Foot, Murphy’s Ford, and Kaleb Sanders. Tickets for the concert are $35 and can be purchased through the Chamber office.
Local businesses are encouraged to get involved. Vendors can reserve a 12×12 booth space for $25 or $30 with electricity, while activity booths for children are free if they include a complimentary kid-friendly activity (note: no sales or fundraising allowed at free activity booths). Sponsorship opportunities are also available by contacting Katelyn Galloway at 660-734-3977 or katelynagalloway@gmail.com.
With everything from live music to colorful contests and community fun, Brookfield’s Summer Fun Days promises to be a high-energy, memory-making weekend for all ages.
