Also enshrined in the Springfield-based Hall was Jill Nagel (sixth from left), sister-in-law of former Marcelinians Dan (far left) and Angela (Stallo) Nagel (now of Chillicothe) and mutliple-times state-championship coach of the Rock Bridge High School basketball Lady Bruins of Columbia. Her husband and Dan’s brother Greg (fourth from left) also shared in the recognition of the Columbia Orthopaedic Group medical practice as recipients of the Hall’s John Q. Hammons Founder’s Award for service to sports in the state. A long-time athletics trainer in Columbia, G. Nagel joined the COG, which for more than five decades has provided surgical and rehabilitative services to not only the University of Missouri-Columbia athletics programs, but also to thousands of individuals young and old across the state, in recent years and currently partners on knee, shoulder, and other large-joint cases with surgeon Dr. Tameem Yehyawi.
