Bernard “Bernie” Hodgerson, 75, of Montgomery City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday January 10, 2023, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in

Columbia, MO. Bernie was born March 23, 1947, in Marceline, Missouri. He was the son of Eugene and Catherine (Oldham) Hodgerson. Bernie served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam Conflict 1965-1967. On June 7, 2002, in Wellsville Missouri, he married Carol Virginia Feldkamp. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2022. Bernie enjoyed going to casinos, dancing, camping and wintering in Texas. For many years he worked as a small engine repairman and later retired from the Missouri Department of Corrections. Survivors include three daughters; Darlene Simmons and husband, Ed, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Alane Appling and husband, Lowell, of Moberly, Missouri and DeAnna Babington and husband, Richard, of Darden Prairie, Missouri; one sister, Jeanne Burris of Whiteland, Indiana; one niece Rogenia Burris and one great niece; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Nathan Smith. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date with Myers Funeral Home handling the arrangements. Condolences may be given at myersfuneralhome.
