Four Buildings in Marceline Added to National Register of Historic Places

MARCELINE - Four more historical properties in Marceline have been added to the National Register of Historic Places. The four properties—First Christian Church, Marceline Masonic Lodge, Marceline Lincoln School, and Gucker Coal Company (listed as Marceline Mercantile & Supply)—join the Uptown Theatre on the Register. Ed Comber, Founder and President of the Marceline Historical Society (a trademarked 501c3 nonprofit), said, “Marceline now has five of the 10 properties in Linn County listed on the Register.”

Since its quiet launch in the middle of a pandemic, Oasis Tutoring in Livingston County has grown from a small group of determined volunteers into a thriving, county-wide initiative that’s changing lives— both for students and for the older adults who mentor them. This spring, the organization will host a luncheon to honor the dedicated individuals who helped get the program off the ground and continue to power its mission forward.

Pershing Health System and Linn County Ambulance Team Up to Boost Mass Casualty Capabilities

LINN COUNTY - Pershing Health System (PHS) has taken a significant step forward in regional emergency preparedness through the acquisition of an Ambu Bus Kit—highly specialized equipment designed to support mass casualty incidents or large-scale patient evacuations. Thanks to a Countyllaborative effort with Region E of Missouri’s Regional Homeland Security Oversight Countymmittees (RHSOCs), PHS received the kit at no Countyst.
