Play Music On The Porch Day

Music Enthusiasts from the Jamesport Area will be coming together on Saturday, Aug. 27, to Play Music on the Porch. Play Music on the Porch Day is an International Day of Music held every year on the last Saturday in August. Everyone is invited to participate in the Jamesport version of “Play Music on the Porch” on Saturday, Aug. 27 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the Farm House Collection on Broadway in Jamesport. Those choosing to sit in the “Musicians’ Circle”, must be vaccinated and boosted for Covid. Let’s keep the music community healthy and happy! Bring an acoustic instrument or use one available at the event. Bring a chair and water and get ready to sing, dance, shake a rattle, beat a drum and have some fun on Play Music on the Porch Day!

A Solitary Journey

Michalle (Mickey) Gilbert isn’t afraid to strike out on her own and for 3,500 miles riding a bicycle, she is proving that. On day 24 of a bike ride that began in Portland, Oregon, Mickey made a pit stop at the Ludlow Lions Ball field after being flagged down by the irrepressible Johanne Blackburn and her friend Marj Locker.

Rare Friday Night Honor Flight

This Friday, Central Missouri Honor Flight (CMHF) will be flying 95 veterans on a trip of a lifetime to Washington, D.C.—including one World War II veteran! On Friday, Aug. 12, the passenger list for mission #64 will include 5 Korean War veterans, 89 Vietnam veterans and 1 veteran who served bravely in WWII.

The True Blue Club met Wednesday, July 27, in Meadville hosted by Eudora Fitzpatrick. The hostess gift was received by Dorothy Crookshanks with game prizes going to Cheryl Maggart and Janet Meek. Cards were sent to Rita Jacobs, Jared Kehr and Terry Meek. August meeting will be a trip to Waverly.
