The Holiday season officially kicks off this Saturday, Nov. 19, in Linn County with a variety of events.
Great Place to Work Institute and its senior care partner Activated Insights have honored Americare Senior Living, including Marceline’s Pioneer, with certification as a Great Place to Work. The certification process involved surveying 100% of employees from across Americare’s locations and evaluating more than 60 elements of team members’ experience on the job.
The True Blue Club met Nov. 10 at a Chillicothe restaurant for their last meeting of the year. Secret Sisters were revealed for 2022, and new names were drawn for 2023. All members were present: Dorothy Crookshanks, Janet Meek, Eudora Fitzpatrick, and Cheryl Maggart to enjoy the meal and gifts exchanged.
There is a $3 suggested contribution for meals for those 60 years and over and $6.75 cost for meals for those 59 years and under. Meals are delivered Monday thru Friday, from 10:30 a.m., – 12 p.m., except on holidays.
The City of Chillicothe announced earlier this week that the CP Holiday Train will me making a stop in Chillicothe this year. The event is planned for Sunday Dec. 4, at the East end of the Lowe’s Home Improvement Center parking lot. The train is to arrive at approximately 2:45 p.m., with the event scheduled to start at 3 p.m. There will be a collection of canned and dry goods for the House of Prayer. Monetary donations will also be accepted.
