Local nonprofit, Parks Work has received a donation of $10,000 to go towards the reconstruction of the basketball court at the Marceline Country Club South Park. The $10,000 donor has also stated that they will match all donations up to $20,000! This approved court renovation will feature a basketball court and two pickleball courts.

Banks and government offices will be closed on Friday, Nov. 11, and the post office won’t deliver mail. Most schools will be open, but several have special events scheduled. As much as I would like to assume everyone will immediately recognize that date as Veterans Day, I know that’s probably not the case, and that concerns me.
The countdown is on for the 18th annual North Central Missouri College (NCMC) Foundation sponsored High School Holiday Hoops, and the schedule will be announced soon! The 2022 edition of Holiday Hoops will tip off at the Ketcham Community Center on the North Central Missouri College Campus in Trenton, with a total of 80 teams representing 44 Missouri high schools and Waukee Northwest in Iowa.
The play will be presented at the Gary Dickinson Performing Arts Center on Friday, Nov. 11 at 7 p.m, Saturday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. All seats are $10. Material is appropriate for middle-school and older.
