Brookfield R-III School Board Discusses Prop. 2, CSIP, Policies

The Brookfield R-III Board of Education met in open session at 5:30 p.m. at the High School Media Center on February 20, 2025. Several report updates and agenda were presented, including monthly administrative reports, a bond issue and the final ballot language for Proposition 2, the district’s Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) and upcoming review in the spring, the district’s Policy Updates, and the district’s health insurance plan.

Updates to 2025 Marceline Tours

Marceline Tours has released updated information since the previous report in the Linn County Leader on its list of organizations assisting with promotion of the current tour schedule. The updated information clarifies misprinted information on some of the flyers and outlines how organizations get listed for helping promote the current tour schedule.

Lent Service Series Schedule Set

Linn County churches are coming together once again for the annual Interdenominational Lenten Services, offering a time for reflection, unity, and spiritual renewal. The 2025 series will take place every Wednesday at noon throughout Lent, featuring worship services hosted by different congregations in the community. Each service will be followed by a light lunch, encouraging fellowship among attendees.

Meadville PTO Awards Grant to Bromwell

Meadville R-IV’s Parent-Teacher Organization has awarded a $150 teacher grant to Brittany Bromwell, a fifth grade teacher, to enhance hands-on learning in her classroom. The grant program, available to both elementary and secondary teachers, aims to provide additional funding to enrich student learning experiences and support educators in their efforts to offer high-quality instruction.
