Olive Sage Emporium is the newest business to open a storefront on Marceline's Main Street USA. Olive Sage Emporium, owned by Kristin Cagle Seyler, is located at 117 North Main Street USA, in downtown Marceline.

Macon County Republican Club held their annual ice cream social, July 21, at the Macon County Fairgrounds. A large crowd enjoyed ice cream and cake and bid enthusiastically on fundraiser auction items. Macon County elected officials were introduced by club president Jon Jearns. There is a $3 suggested contribution for meals for those 60 years and over and $6.75 cost for meals for those 59 years and under. Meals are delivered Monday thru Friday, from 10:30 – 12:00, except on holidays.

Wednesday evening, July 20, at the Chillicothe Cultural Arts Center the Linn and Livingston County Democrat Clubs had a Multi-Candidate Meet and Greet. Kris Daniel, Livingston Club President welcomed the crowd and the five Democrat candidates: Spencer Toder-U.S. Senate, Charles West-U.S. Congress District Six, Henry Martin-U.S. Congress District Six, Michael Baumli-State Senate District Twelve, and Josh Vance-State Representative District Seven. Missouri Beef Industry Council has hired Sydney Thummel as the new Executive Director. Thummel will work directly with the MBIC Board of Directors and will be responsible for all operational and budgetary functions of the organization.
“It’s not a good situation” for agriculture in the southern two-thirds of Missouri, where scant rainfall and high temperatures have led to worsening drought, said Pat Guinan, associate extension professor of climatology with University of Missouri Extension.
