Macon County Democrats Meeting

The Macon County Democrat Club had its June 21 meeting at Rasberry's BBQ in Macon. The guest speaker for the evening was Dr. Allan Green (D) running for Missouri State Auditor in 2022. He spoke on the importance of making sure that Missouri funds are spent to benefit the people of Missouri from the state level down to the county level. Dr. Green would come into office with a very impressive resume.

Ribbon Cutting Held At Essig Family McDonald’s Disc Golf Course At South City Park

A Ribbon Cutting was held Saturday at Brookfield's South City Park for the new Essig Family McDonald's Disc Golf Course at South City Park. For more than a year work at the park has been ongoing to set-up the 18 basket course. Fundraising was secured by a committee of volunteers, many of who were on hand at the event.

Lonnie Trentham Guest Speaker At Linn County Democrat Club

Wednesday evening, June 15, at the Brookfield South Park, Lonnie Trentham, Democrat candidate for Linn County Commissioner spoke to the Linn County Democrat Club. Trentham stated he thought the current county commissioners were doing a good job, but change can be good. Trentham, a U.S. Army veteran and Brookfield City Councilman for the past 10 years would like to see the completion of a major truck stop and the senior housing project at the old high school.

Daughters Of American Revolution Honor Legion

Linda Haley and Janean Faux, members of the Daughters of the American Revolution Marceline Continental Congress Marceline Chapter, presented the Bucklin American Legion Green Hills Post 57 an American flag that flew over George Washington 's Mt. Vernon residence and then subsequently was flown over the Marceline Carnegie Public Library on it's 100th birthday. The presentation took place Sunday evening June 19, 2022, at the Bucklin Legion Hall.
