The Linn County R-1 FFA Chapter, Pershing’s Pride 4-H Club and the Wyandotte 4-H Club all in Linn County have received Shaping Rural Missouri grants. According to a press release, 73 4-H clubs and FFA chapters across the state received a $500 grant to complete a community improvement project in their local area.
Three house fires in the Polo area on May 10 are being investigated as possible arson. The Caldwell County Sheriff ’s Office and State Fire Marshal’s Office are investigating.

Preliminary data from the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) shows that turkey hunters checked 33,355 birds during Missouri’s 2022 regular spring turkey season, April 18 through May 8. Top regular season harvest counties were Franklin with 798 birds harvested, Callaway with 614, and Gasconade with 606.

If that figure is startling, it's likely even greater as a result of the pandemic. Data from the Kaiser Family Foundation indicated that about four in 10 adults in the United States reported symptoms of anxiety or depressive disorder during the pandemic. That marked a significant uptick since the summer of 2019, when one in 10 adults reported such symptoms.
