Hemoglobin Screenings The Linn County Health Department is offering lead and hemoglobin screenings for preschool-age children. Screenings will be held on June 1, 15 and July 28 from 9 a.m., - 4 p.m., and from 9 to 11:30 a.m., on July 13.
May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol preliminary 2020 statistics indicate there were 173 crashes involving a motorcycle. In these crashes, 157 people were injured and 11 people were killed.
There is a $3 suggested contribution for meals for those 60 years and over and $6.75 cost for meals for those 59 years and under. Meals are delivered Monday thru Friday, from 10:30 – 12:00, except on holidays.
A former teacher and coach in Braymer has been denied bond in one of two cases that allege sexual abuse toward a student. On Thursday, Zachary Wayman Douglas, 29, Utica, was once again denied bond on the charges of four felony counts of first-degree sexual abuse, two felony counts of second-degree statutory sodomy, and four felony counts of sexual contact with a student.

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) encourages Missouri hunters to apply for elk-hunting and bear-hunting permits in May. MDC will offer five permits to hunt bull elk in Missouri this fall with at least one permit allocated for qualifying area landowners and the remaining permits for the general public.
