Gamble Denied Bond

Last week, bond was denied to Jessica Nicole Gamble, 27, Chillicothe for the charges of abuse or neglect of a child – serious emotional or physical injury – no sexual contact. Gamble who told the court in her first appearance, that she is pregnant, will remain in custody with no bond allowed.

Schneider Recognized By Missouri Rural Water Association

The City of Brookfield recently announced that the city’s Chief Water Plant Operator Al Schneider was recognized on behalf of Missouri Rural Water Association’s magazine “Rural Water Lines”. In a post on social media, Schneider was thanked for his service. “Water treatment plant operators have a tremendous responsibility to provide safe and available water to our community.”

FCC’s New Affordable Connectivity Program Provides Assistance To Qualifying Households

GRM Networks is promoting consumer awareness about the Affordable Connectivity Program, a new program from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). This benefit will help lower the cost of broadband Internet service for eligible households. The $14 billion Affordable Connectivity Program provides a discount of $30 per month toward broadband Internet service for eligible households.

Good Record Keeping Starts At Calving Time

Most area beef producers are getting ready to or have already started calving. If you are not already doing so, this would be a great year to start tagging all your calves at birth with individual tags that can be matched back to their mothers. The table below shows a handy way to use the international letter codes and incorporate them into your tagging system to keep track of birth year. This is especially useful for producers that raise and keep their own replacement heifers back in the herd. As the years pass by, producers that use these letter codes are able to know the ages of their cows by simply looking at their ear tags. Additional information that should be recorded at birth would be birth date, sex of calf and whether or not assistance was provided at delivery. One area that I think northwest Missouri cow-calf producers could certainly improve on is record keeping and a great place to start would be this calving season.
