Marceline 2021 State Of The City Address

2021 ushered in the beginning of an exciting and energetic year for Marceline with new residents, new housing construction, and new business openings - a renaissance if you will – the likes of which we haven’t seen in years! The influx of out of-state license plates and new faces brings new investments in the community as well as business and employment opportunities. Why Marceline? Many factors can be attributed to this trend, including high-speed internet access, tourism, quality education, lower cost of living and the results of the city’s ongoing efforts to ensure a high quality of life through reliable utilities, good roads, and safe and clean neighborhoods. We are very optimistic this growth will continue in the coming year with the sound of heavy machinery, saws and hammers filling the air.

MFD Received MFA Grant

The Marceline Fire Department (MFD) recently announced the organization was awarded a grant from MFA corporation in the amount of $2,000 to be used for equipment and training in grain bin rescue. The grant was written by MFD firefighter Brian Mosier. Shown accepting the award is MFD Firefighter Levi Kelly and MFA BPLP Manager Garrett Antoine. This spring firefighters be teaming up with local farmers and MU Fire and Rescue training division to train on the equipment on how to rescue and extricate an individual that is having a grain bin emergency. Someone In Palm Beach Tells New Yorkers Leave If ‘Woke’

PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Someone had a warning for New Yorkers visiting former President Donald Trump's new hometown — leave if you are "woke." Palm Beach Police say someone placed fliers over the weekend on New York-licensed cars parked on the wealthy island reading, "If you are one of the those 'woke' people --- leave Florida. You will be happier elsewhere, as will we."
