November 24th the day before Thanksgiving a fire broke out at the at the residence of Carole Brien, living with Carole is her granddaughter Danielle Wooten and her 5 year old son Oliver. Their home was a total loss and they only got out with the clothes on their backs. Insurance will only go so far and without a home, clothes and the basic necessities of living, Carrie Roling and Julie Green are helping out a friend in need.

Holiday lights remain a bright spot

CUMBERLAND, Maine – The holiday season is shining brightly during the pandemic as businesses pour money into extravagant light shows to spread cheer. From Maine to California, more lights shows have launched during the pandemic, and they’re more elaborate than ever, with sparkly spectacles that the comedic character Clark Griswold from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” could only dream about.

What is a derecho?

Multiple tornadoes and thunderstorms that struck the Great Plains and upper Midwest on Dec. 15 were the result of a rare event called a derecho, according to the National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center. It was the first on record in December in the United States.
