The Grand River Valley Choir and Orchestra (GRVCO) will present its annual Winter Concert, “Joy to the World,” at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in the Trenton R-IX Performing Arts Center. Holiday music will be performed.
Meals are delivered Monday - Friday, from 10:30 a.m., – 12 p.m., except on holidays. There is a $3 suggested contribution for meals for those 60 years and older and meals are $6.75 for those 59 years and under.

As the unseasonably warm temperatures continue, Missouri Department of Transportation (Mo-DOT) is looking for help removing litter from the state’s roadways. “We’ve completed the last of our mowing for 2021 and this has the unfortunate effect of making litter more visible along Missouri roads,” said Natalie Roark, state highway maintenance director.

America needs to rethink and reduce the way it generates plastics because so much of the material is littering the oceans and other waters, the National Academy of Sciences says in a new report. The United States, the world’s top plastics waste producer, generates more than 46 million tons yearly, and about 2.2 billion pounds ends up in the world’s oceans, according to the academy’s report.

On Nov. 29, three jury trials were held in the case of the Land of Far Far Away vs. Goldilocks. The jurors in all three trials were composed of 5th and 6th graders – who were duly summoned to court for jury duty, according to Linn County Prosecutor Shiante McMahon who said the activity is designed to help teach students about the court process.
