North Missourians Provide Aid to North Carolina

Brookfield and Avalon are two Missouri communities answering the call to provide needed supplies to hurricane-impacted North Carolina, particularly in the mountainous region where torrential flooding and considerable wind damage was experienced.Earlier this week, several concerned Brookfield citizens teamed up with citizens in Avalon, to provide needed supplies, including boxes of mud boots and work boots, for rescue teams in North Carolina following Hurricane Helene’s sweeping and destructive path through Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and eastern Tennessee.Tooey’s of Brookfield donated several boxes of mud boots and work boots to be delivered to rescue workers who had already worn out and destroyed their boots during cleanup and rescue efforts in thick mud and debris.

Sipping & Strolling on Main Street

Main Street Brookfield hosting its annual Sip & Stroll on September 21 despite the light rain participants from around Linn County and beyond enjoyed the wine tastings, shopped through vendor booths and and enoyed live music by Noah Austin, Dave the Guitar Guy and Lacey Mihalevich.Photos by Josh Graves.
