Walt Disney Elementary presents “The Lion King Kids” tonight Walt Disney Elementary School fifth grade music students are presenting “The Lion King Kids” at 6 p.m., and 7 p.m., on May 10 at Walt Disney Elementary School. Admission is free. Water and popcorn will be available for a free will donation.

Marceline’s Coca-Cola Mural gets Makeover
Visitors to the downtown Marceline have found now have a new reason to stop by the Coke Wall Mural, located at the northwest corner of Main Street USA and Ritchie Street. Last week, the Downtown Marceline Foundation announced the beginning of restoration work on the Coke Wall Mural, which will be completed by the end of May.
Commission meeting minutes for April 25
The Linn County Commission met on April 25 with Commissioners King and Muck and Clerk Stephenson present. Commissioner King called the meeting to order.

Marceline Nutrition Center menu
The Marceline Nutrition Center is located at 229 W. Hauser. Please call ahead at 660-376-3103 to reserve a carry-out meal, which will be ready at 11 a.m. Dine-in meals begin at 11:30 a.m. Suggested contribution is $3 per meal. 8 oz. low-fat milk is offered at every meal.
Brookfield Senior Center menu
There is a $3 suggested contribution for meals for those 60 years and over and $6.75 cost for meals for those 59 years and under. Meals are delivered Monday thru Friday, from 10:30 a.m., – 12 p.m., except on holidays.

Stairway to Heaven
Marceline High School upperclassman and their dates celebrated prom 2023 with a Stairway to Heaven theme on Saturday, April 29, with the annual Grand March and dance. The Grand March had to be moved inside due to the cold temperatures and a light rainstorm that moved through town just before the event was to begin.
NCMC Upward Bound program now accepting applications
The Upward Bound program housed at North Central Missouri College (NCMC) in Trenton, is now recruiting and accepting participant applications for the 2023-2024 school year. High School students from Brookfield, Chillicothe, Gallatin, Hamilton, Trenton and Tri-County are invited to submit applications by working through their school counselor. The deadline for Upward Bound applications is May 16. The purpose of the program is to help students overcome class, social, academic, and cultural barriers to higher education through academic instruction, advising, tutoring, motivational and study skills, college visits, a culturally rewarding summer component, and other support services to aid those interested in attending college after high school.
