Linn County voters to decide on marijuana tax on April ballot

Voters in Linn County are being asked to decide if they wish to impose a tax on “adult use marijuana” in Linn County when they head to the polls on April 4. County Commissioner Josh Muck said the tax would only be applicable to adult use marijuana and “items to use it that are sold at licensed dispensaries.” The three percent tax would not apply to items that are sold at dispensaries and may also be legally sold at other retail locations like gas stations or convenience stores.

Citizen announces “Wonder of Time” celebration to be held in Marceline

Classrooms, several businesses, non-profit organizations and city offices now have a replica watch that features the same design that was on the altimeter on Walt Disney’s airplane in the 1950s-1960s. Citizen, as the partner in Time, donated the replica clocks to the Walt Disney Elementary, Father McCartan School, Marceline Middle and High School and Early Learning Center in Marceline on March 16.

The Marceline Nutrition Center is located at 229 W. Hauser. Please call ahead at 660-376-3103 to reserve a carry-out meal, which will be ready at 11 a.m. Dine-in meals begin at 11:30 a.m. Suggested contribution is $3 per meal. 8 oz. low-fat milk is offered at every meal.
