ChilliArts Opry to host three concerts
The Chillicothe Area Arts Council is hosting something new — a County Music Opry, presenting “Classic Country”. Arts Administrator, Mary Lou VanDeventer, hand-picked the band and vocals from musicians and singers from the area who have a passion for country music and the performing arts and are excited to share their time and talents.

State releases December 2022 General Revenue Report
State Budget Director Dan Haug announced today that net general revenue collections for December 2022 declined 9.3% compared to those for December 2021, from $1.19 billion last year to $1.08 billion this year. The growth rate shown for total Sales and Use Tax is artificially low as the collections amount last December was artificially high due to a distribution error.
Linn County bridge to be replaced through FARM Bridge program
The 20th Northern Missouri bridge to be replaced under the FARM (Fixing Access to Rural Missouri) Bridge Program is scheduled to close soon. The Linn County Route WW bridge over Van Dorsen Creek, located approximately 2.5 miles east of Marceline, is scheduled to remain closed through May 2023.

The Chariton Valley Telephone Corporation Board of Directors is excited about the appointment of Interim President & Chief Executive Officer Ryan Johnson. Johnson will assume the CEO responsibilities immediately.
Fr. McCartan standardized test results are strong
Father McCartan Memorial School recently received test score results for the Fall Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS). All students, Grades 3-8, throughout the Diocese of Jefferson City Catholic schools, participate in the standardized test every year. The Diocesan averages were all above national averages at each grade level.
Commission meeting minutes for Dec. 27
The Linn County Commission met on this date with Commissioners King, Murrain and Muck and Clerk Stephenson present. Presiding Commissioner King called the meeting to order.

GriefShare Meetings held at Moms Breaking the Silence Center Moms Breaking the Silence, a nonprofit organization in Linn County dedicated to suicide awareness and prevention, holds GriefShare meetings at the office center on Monday nights at 6 p.m. The center is located at 201 N. Main Street, Brookfield.
