Commission meeting minutes for Dec. 6
The Linn County Commission met on Dec. 6 with Commissioners King, Murrain and Muck and Clerk Stephenson present.
Tarpening, Jackson sentenced in Linn County Court
On Dec. 13, Jared Tarpening was on probation for felony Possession of a controlled substance. The court ruled that Tarpening had violated the conditions of probation and revoked his probation. He was sentenced to 7 years in the Department of Corrections, according to a statement from Linn County Prosecutor Shiante McMahon.

Complete Family Medicine announces new provider in Brookfield
Recently, Complete Family Medicine, a service of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System, announced the addition of Gail Calvert, FNP-BC, to their team of providers. Calvert, FNP-BC, is board-certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Missouri Corn scholarship applications now available
The Missouri Corn Growers Association and Missouri Corn Merchandising Council are continuing the longstanding tradition of awarding seven deserving students $1,000 scholarships in 2023. Applications for the Missouri Corn Scholarship Program are now available for high school seniors and college juniors pursuing a degree in agronomy or related area of agriculture.

There is a $3 suggested contribution for meals for those 60 years and over and $6.75 cost for meals for those 59 years and under. Meals are delivered Monday thru Friday, from 10:30 a.m., – 12 p.m., except on holidays.

State Releases November 2022 General Revenue Report
State Budget Director Dan Haug recently announced that net general revenue collections for November 2022 grew 4.8 percent compared to those for November 2021, from $965.5 million last year to $1.01 billion this year.
