Marceline Tours has released updated information since the previous report in the Linn County Leader on its list of organizations assisting with promotion of the current tour schedule. The updated information clarifies misprinted information on some of the flyers and outlines how organizations get listed for helping promote the current tour schedule.
Park Baptist Youth is inviting students in grades sixth-seniors to join them for their annual Sugar Rush Event Night on Wed., Feb. 26. The event will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. at Park Baptist Church, located at 121 E Park St. in Brookfield.
The female portion of Linn County’s representation at this coming week’s high school wrestling state championships cemented last Friday and Saturday when five Brookfield Lady Bulldogs – three of them as individual champions – powered the blue and white to a second-straight Class 1 District 2 team title, while Marceline came away empty-handed, tonight and tomorrow at Versailles, the BHS and MHS boys’ state hopefuls will battle for top-4 finishes in the 15-schools Class 1 District 3 tournament which would send them on to state.
Sheriff Carrie Melte has announced a leadership promotion and a new addition to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, recognizing the dedication and experience of two law enforcement professionals. Deputy Brad Aldrich has been promoted to Chief Deputy, while Jon Chandler joins the department as a Sergeant.
