While the numbers may sound alarming, advances in early detection and treatment have led to improved survival rates. At the heart of this progress is one powerful tool: the mammogram.

Linn County R-1 FFA to Host “Feed the Farmers” BBQ Lunch Oct. 3

PURDIN – The Linn County R-1 FFA Chapter is inviting local farmers to enjoy a free BBQ lunch as a show of appreciation for their hard work and dedication. The event, called “Feed the Farmers,” will be held Oct. 3, at the Linn County R-1 Ag Shop. Farmers are welcome to stop by anytime between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to enjoy the meal.

Brookfield Community Chest Distributes $9,400

BROOKFIELD - The Brookfield Community Chest met at the Twin Parks in Brookfield on September 11, to distribute funds at the conclusion of their 2025 campaign fundraising event. Qualifying applicants of 501 (C) (3) status were: Animal Shelter of Linn County, Brookfield Area Growth Partnership, Brookfield Junction Park, Brookfield Senior Center, Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri, Ministries in Linn County-Food Pantry, Ministries in Linn County-General Assistance, North Central YMCA, and VFW Auxiliary.
