Sheriff’s Office Warns of Scam

LINN COUNTY - The Linn County Sheriff’s Office has issued a warning to the public about an ongoing scam targeting residents of the county. According to the sheriff’s office, individuals have reported receiving phone calls from someone falsely identifying themselves as “Deputy Brooks.” The caller claims to be a deputy with the Linn County Sheriff’s Office or affiliated with other nearby sheriff’s offices, instructing individuals to report to the sheriff’s office.

MSHP Launches Hands-Free Enforcement Campaign, Includes Linn County

LINN COUNTY - Drivers across northeast Missouri are being warned to keep their phones down and their seat belts buckled as Troop B of the Missouri State Highway Patrol kicks off a hands-free enforcement campaign. The operation which kicked off yesterday will run through July 13 and is aimed at cracking down on distracted driving and other traffic violations that contribute to crashes.
