RICHARD J. HOSKINS

Richard “Rick” Joseph Hoskins, age 65 of Marceline, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at Boone Hospital, Columbia. Rick was born in Brookfield, Missouri on November 27, 1957 to Kenneth James and Betty Lou (Powell) Hoskins. He married Sandra Jane Stella on February 19, 1977 and she preceded him in death on December 26, 2020. Rick had worked in the grocery business for many years and then was a Frito Lay route driver until January 2015. He was a member of the St. Bonaventure Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus #9208 of Marceline. He loved to volunteer at Fr. McCartan school to help kids with reading and enjoyed his daily lunch visits with his Ma Vic’s crew. He was a sociable person who enjoyed the art of conversation. Rick is survived by his children, Susan Speak and Brent of Kirksville, Kristin Allen of Marceline, and Nathan Hoskins and Katie of Union, eight grandchildren, Katherine, Xavier and Alexander Speak of Kirksville, Molly, Carter and Richard Allen of Marceline, and Sophia and Johnathan Hoskins of Union, brothers, Phillip Hoskins and Terri of Columbia, Kerry Hoskins and Nancy of Linneus, Steven Hoskins and Linda of Albia, IA, John Hoskins and Conny of Olathe, KS, Kevin Hoskins and Kathleen of Chillicothe, and Tony Hoskins and Lisa of Linneus, sisters Shari Hoskins of Brookfield, Lori Cordonnier and Donald of St. Joseph, Kathi Tolly and Danny of Linneus, Lisa Burr and David of Brookfield and Mary Beth Parks and Jeff of Brookfield, and many nieces, nephews and lots of extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sandy, sister Teresa Williams and two infant siblings. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Saturday, May 20, 2023 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Marceline with burial in St. Bonaventure Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Friday, May 19, 2023 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with rosary at 5 PM. Memorials may be made to Marceline First Responders or Fr.
