passed away Thursday morning, January 5, 2023, at the Neighborhoods Arbor Court in Columbia, Missouri. She suffered with Alzheimer’s and had been in nursing facilities in Columbia for the past ten years.

Edward “Eddie” A. Womack, age 79, of Brookfield, MO; passed away Friday, January 6, 2023, at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center in Marceline, MO.

Charles Albert Bowe, 93, of Brookfield, passed away, Monday, December 26, 2022, at LaVerna Nursing Center in Savannah, Missouri, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. beginning with an Elks Session of Sorrow at Wright Funeral Home in Brookfield, with Pastor David Blakley officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Charles, son of William J. and Lala Ruth (Cook) Bowe, was born May 6, 1929, in the community of Chula, Missouri. On July 1, 1956, he married Beverly Ann Enyeart at the Park Baptist Church in Brookfield. Charles and Beverly celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary in July. They enjoyed swing music of the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s and attending antique auctions, after retirement Charles and Beverly spent several winters in Corpus Christi, TX, New Orleans, LA and to Buloxi, MI for golfing adventures. Charles attended Brookfield High School where he was very active in Sports. He played on the undefeated, untied and unscored upon football team of 1947. He helped organize and start the Peewee and Little League football teams in Brookfield in 1965. He also won the North Central Missouri Golden Gloves Boxing championship. Charles enlisted in the United States Navy in 1948 and was honorably discharged from the Navy on the 13th day of March 1952. During his four years of service, he played football and was chosen to be on the Navy Dream Team. He was attached to the recreation department where he boxed, coached boxing and was a swimming instructor. Charles also served in the Korean War. Richard J. “Rick” Freeman, 67, of Liberty, Missouri, formerly of Marceline, died Friday, December 2, 2022, at North Care Hospice House in Kansas City. Rick was born in Marceline on November 4, 1955, to Clifford Locke and Sharon Jane (Barnes) Freeman. He married Martha Raylene Coffman on May 14th, 1982, in a small country church just outside Callao, Missouri. Rick attended Father McCartan Memorial School, and graduated Marceline High School, and the University of Central Missouri. A Linn County Deputy for over 9 years, and Sheriff for 10, Rick continued working closely with law enforcement throughout his career, most recently with Lexipol software training as a Sales Development Representative. Rick was a faithful member of Liberty United Methodist Church and always strived to actively reflect the spirit of and embody the love of Christ in his interactions with the public, colleagues, friends, and family. It was his deep desire to represent his deep faith in word and deed. He is survived by his wife Raylene; daughter Thera Freeman and wife Jane Chase Wells of Snowmass, Colorado; brother Kerry Freeman and wife Lauraine Garten-Freeman of Brookfield; sister Jennie Crowell of Catoosa, Oklahoma; and Cayrol Coffman, his beloved mother in-law. Rick is also survived by many loving members of his extended family and friends who are like family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Clay. A memorial service is being planned for Friday, December 9th at Liberty United Methodist Church, Liberty, Missouri, followed by interment in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Marceline, MO.
