Marceline High School 2021-22 senior Nathan Cupp has signed to play baseball as part of the fledgling Moberly Area Community College program which will start next school year. Primarily a catcher, Cupp hopes to have a strong season this spring, official practices for which began this past week leading toward a late March start of game play. Cupp sustained a knee injury early in last fall’s football season, preventing him from participating in the just-ended wrestling season, but his father reports the future Greyhound has been busy getting lots of swings privately in the batting cage. Indications are, prior to joining MACC late this summer, Cupp will get in some summer action with the Chillicothe Mudcats college-level, wood-bat summer team. Present for the signing event were, from left, flanking the signee, his father Marty and mother Mary, and, behind Cupp, Blake Linebaugh, Marceline High baseball head coach.
