Majority of county high school hoops teams not done with ’21 yet

Brookfield in tourney this week, Marceline, Meadville have Thursday play Even with only a couple of days remaining in the “old” year, a majority of Linn County high schools still have unfinished 2021 basketball business. While Linn County R-1 and southern county neighbor Mendon: Northwestern have terminated play until after New Year’s Day, Brookfield, Marceline and Meadville are due to have games today or tomorrow before turning the calendar page.

Northwestern swept Thursday after splitting with Linn County Monday

Meadville basketball boys snap short skid

A highly-uncharacteristic Meadville High School basketball Eagles record three games under .500 improved a bit Tuesday night, capping a home sweep of MHS’ western county rival. After the Lady Eagles won 50-30 for their eighth victory without a loss this season Tuesday, the Meadville boys dominated the first half to set their winning margin in a 63-39 Tri-County Conference triumph over the Mustangs.
