Meadville basketball boys snap short skid

A highly-uncharacteristic Meadville High School basketball Eagles record three games under .500 improved a bit Tuesday night, capping a home sweep of MHS’ western county rival. After the Lady Eagles won 50-30 for their eighth victory without a loss this season Tuesday, the Meadville boys dominated the first half to set their winning margin in a 63-39 Tri-County Conference triumph over the Mustangs.

Mizzou eager for Armed Forces Bowl against Army

Missouri athletic director Desiree Reed-Francois doesn’t feel like the Tigers were the Southeastern Conference’s odd team out during the bowl selection process. Yes, MU was the only league team not selected to the College Football Playoff or a previous league-affiliated bowl, but she and Missouri head football coach Eli Drinkwitz value the opportunity of the Armed Forces Bowl.

Meadville High basketball girls roll on

Meadville High School’s undefeated girls’ basketball squad won Thursday and Friday games handily, while their male counterparts lost. Linn County’s girls won Friday to go to 2-0 in the Tri-County Conference and Mendon: Northwestern’s Eagles won both Thursday and Friday to move to 3-0 in Carroll-Livingston Activity Association action.
