Brookfield Handles Winless Hamilton Twice on Hardwoods

BROOKFIELD — Opportunity knocked for Brookfield High School’s varsity basketball teams this past Tuesday and the host Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs swung the door open wide. Welcoming winless Hamilton: Penney, the Bulldogs had the most-productive offensive performance of the season to date, scoring at least 14 points in each period and having three double- digits scorers as they steadily distanced themselves from the Hornets, 62-49.

Girls mesh offense, defense to beat Paris by 29 Tuesday PARIS — With eight players contributing at least four points and thanks to a dominant second half, Marceline High School’s basketball Lady Tigers tipped off their Lewis and Clark Conference schedule for 2022-23 this past Tuesday with a 54-25 triumph at Paris. Behind after one quarter and in front of Lady Coyotes only 21-16 midway through, the Lady Tigers were ignited by the first of Ireland Bloss’ three second-half treys as they outscored Paris 21-2 in the third quarter and 33-9 after intermission.
