Two Each from Brookfield, Marceline to State Golf

CHILLICOTHE — Although none played exceedingly well – especially considering the exquisite weather in which the Class 1 District 3 tournament was played, two members each of the 2022 Brookfield and Marceline high school girls’ golf teams earned the right to compete individually in the approaching state tournament at Columbia. In virtually-perfect climatic conditions – nextto- no wind on the often-breezy, links-style Green Hills Golf Course and balmy temperatures under mostly sunny skies, 2021 district medalist and then state-tourney fifth-place finisher Tess Sheerman settled for a top-5 individual finish at district, shooting a 51-47–98 that easily had her among the top non-team state qualifiers from the district.
