The county’s two Class 2 high school softball programs – each having winning seasons going – produced a well-contested battle when squared off at Marceline’s Disney Park field last Monday. As would have been anticipated, when the last out was recorded, the defending Class 2 state-champion Marceline squad had prevailed over Brookfield, but not without a challenge.

MARCELINE — Although, somewhat surprisingly, it required a month and half the season, the first victory for the 2022 Marceline High School football Tigers and first-season head coach Joey Peterson finally materialized last Friday at Chester Ray Stadium.
