• Survivors of Sexual Trauma Women’s Support Group. Sponsored by the North Central Missouri Mental Health Center. Hosted by 4 MOMS. Many women have survived sexual trauma in their lives. Often, they feel they are alone. We are offering a space for survivors to feel safe, receive support and give support. Tuesdays from 4:30 to 6 p.m. 201 N. Main St., Brookfield. July 24

• 3rd Annual Healthy Community Summit, happening on Thurs., July 24, from 5-7 p.m. at the Walsworth Community Center, located at 124 E. Ritchie in Marceline, Missouri.

Attendees can look forward to an evening packed with fun and helpful activities. There will be free food and drinks for everyone, along with exciting giveaways including educational materials for all ages, festive Christmas decorations, 2025 calendars, free books, and activity packs for kids with coloring books, crayons, and worksheets. The event will also feature sign-ups for school supplies to help families get ready for the upcoming school year.

There will also be free vision checks, blood pressure screenings, and haircuts or trims. Mental health services, substance use support, and caregiver resources will also be offered. Families can meet with local programs such as Bikers Against Child Abuse (BACA), Celebrate Recovery, Senior Solutions, and other community mentoring programs. Local health department representatives will be there to answer questions and offer guidance on available services.

• Free food boxes will be distributed in starting at 12:15 p.m., under the gazebo at East Lake Twin Park, located at 121 East Park Street. Boxes will be handed out until supplies run out. The event is sponsored by USDA, the Missouri Department of Social Services, Caring Community Partnership, and other local organizations. Families are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they receive a box before supplies are gone.

August 2

• American Red Cross Blood Drive at the Walsworth Community Center, 124 E Ritchie, Marceline, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m.

• The Marceline Wine & Art Stroll returns on Saturday, Aug.23, 2025, from 5 to 9 p.m. along 207 N. Main Street USA in Marceline. Hosted by the Downtown Marceline Foundation, this event promises to fill the streets with flavor, color, and community charm.
