We are sad to announce the passing of Flora Fern (Chrisman) Payne, who passed away peacefully on August 8th, 2022 at her home in Bucklin, MO. Visitation is scheduled for 11 AM at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline, MO, Thursday August 11th with the funeral at 12:30 PM with burial at Locke Cemetery; immediately following the burial, a potluck dinner will be held at the Bucklin Community Center Bucklin, MO.
Flora was born in Carrollton, MO, the daughter of George and Bernadine Chrisman on September 25, 1932. She is survived by her husband, Vernon Payne, her daughter, Dr. Kathi Cordingley and her son-in-law, Robert Cordingley of Bucklin, her son Gary Freeman of Grand Junction, Colorado, 5 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Bernadine Chrisman, her sister Janet St. Clair, her sons Dennis Matticks and George Isaiah and her daughter Mary Alice and her great-great granddaughter Athena Violet.
She worked 13 years for the ATSF Railway Co. as a Stenographer to the Trainmaster, Roadmaster and Division Engineer; worked for Life Care Center of Brookfield, MO and retired from her real estate practice, Payne Realty.
Flora kept her strong faith in God, dearly loved her family and friends, all while keeping a special place in her heart for all of God’s creatures.
