BUCKLIN – Gerald Lee Payne, age 74 of Bucklin, died Friday, December 17, 2021 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Jefferson City. Gerald was born in Mussel Fork, Missouri on November 22, 1947 to John Bills and Viola (Bettis) Payne. He married Donna Whisenand on September 16, 1972 at Bucklin.

Gerald was a Veteran of the United States Army. He had worked at Cupp Chevrolet and Marceline Auto as a mechanic. He had attended Mussel Fork Church.

He is survived by his wife Donna of the home in Bucklin, three sons, Jerry Payne of Bucklin, Billy Payne of St. Joseph, and Clinton Payne and Amanda of Stewartsville, one grandchild River Payne, three brothers, Wilbur Payne of Osceola, Donald Payne of Laclede, and Vernon Payne of Bucklin, four sisters, Marilyn Camlen of Kansas City, Carolyn Scott of Marceline, Wanda Dodge of Laclede and Wilma Grett of Brookfield. He was preceded by his parents, sister Freda Hulett and brother George Wendell Payne.

Funeral services will be held at 10 AM Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline, burial with Military Honors in Locke Cemetery south of Marceline. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Tuesday, December 21 at the funeral home in Marceline. Memorials may be made to Locke Cemetery and these may be mailed to 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.
