James Dewayne Alexander

James Dewayne Alexander, age 93, of Linneus, passed away Monday, April 11, 2022 at McLarney Manor in Brookfield, MO.

James Dewayne was born on March 18, 1929 in Brookfield, MO. to the late Clyde Cleveland and Gillie Marie (Pearson) Alexander. He attended and graduated school in Meadville, MO. On May 8, 1949 he married Bonnie Jean Dowell at the Laclede Methodist Church in Laclede, MO. James was raised on a farm and has been a farmer all his life.

James was a member of the Linneus United Methodist Church and he served on the board for many years. He was a past board member of the Brookfield MFA and MFA Oil. James also helped establish and get members for the Consolidated Public Water Supply District in the rural area. He was a leader for the Happy Go Lucky 4-H Club for many years.

James is survived by his wife Bonnie of the home, one son, Myron Alexander and wife Carol of Linneus, MO; six grandchildren, Katie Andreasen (Jamon) of Excelsior Springs, MO; Will Alexander (Shelbie) of Linneus, MO; Kellie Asher (Kirby) of Harrisburg, MO; Susan Efken (Robert) of Imperial, MO; Daniel Alexander (Elisabeth) of Lebanon, IL; and Amanda Adkisson (Davis) of St. Louis, MO; sixteen great grandchildren, Madeline, Owen, Della, Jacob, and Elijah Andreasen of Excelsior Springs, MO; Trace, Max and Payslie Alexander and Lanie Hill of Linneus, MO; Finley and Wesley Asher of Harisburg, MO; Caleb, Lucas, Jackson, and Addison Efken of Imperial, MO; and Rylie Alexander of Lebanon, IL; one sister, Fontelle Jaynes of Meadville, MO; one brother-in-law, Lloyd Woollen, and several other nieces, nephews, and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Stephen Alexander, one sister, Martha Ann Woollen, one brother, Elwood Alexander, and one brother-in-law Leon Jaynes.

Funeral Services will be on Friday, April 15, 2022 at 11:00 am. at the Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO. with Reverend Sue Lambert officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am. until the time of the service at 11:00 am. at the Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO. Friends may call at the Rhodes Funeral Home any time after 12:00 pm. until 5:00 pm. Thursday, April 14, 2022. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Garden Cemetery, Brookfield, MO. Arrangements are under the directions of the Rhodes Funeral Home, Brookfield, MO.
