John Jacob Klumb

John Jacob Klumb, age 91 of Marceline, passed away June 22, 2022 at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center. He was born on December 10, 1930 to Frank and Dorothy Klumb in Tacoma, Washington. He and his twin brother and sister grew up in Seattle. In 1951 he joined the Marines and moved to Camp Pendleton. While there he played football for the camp. In 1952 he met and married Billie Cavanah. To this union were born Paula and Mark. He was sent to Korea in 1953 where he was a brig sergeant. He brought his family back to Marceline and settled into small town life. He worked for the City of Marceline as their City engineer for a few years then he went to work for Sinclair Oil Company as a regional representative. He was in the printing business for more than 25 years and owned and operated his own real estate business for a few years. In December of 1977 he married Beverly Kauzlarich in Bucklin, Missouri. John was a member of the VFW, charter member of the Marceline Golf Course, former Mason and Shriner. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing with all his buddies, loved reading books and working jigsaw puzzles. He always loved watching his grandkids and great grandkids play sports especially football. He would help anyone who needed it and was a great friend to many, and a Dad and Grandpa who will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his daughter Paula Gooch and Jerry, son Mark Klumb, step daughters Debbie Banks, Beth Marek and David, all of Marceline, grandchildren, Courtney Lucas, Kylee Gooch, Pat Riley (Tiffani), Katie Casebolt (Matt), Anna Dickson, Alison Price (Chris), Adam Marek (Kim), Alyssa Niemeier (Luke), Emilee Banks, Glenn Banks III, Melinda Wright (Richard), and Rhonda Banks, great grandchildren, Trevor, Carson and Zaylen Ganaway, Abram and Ayla Riley, Elias Casebolt, Brayden and Devyn Price, Jacob and Asher Banks, Harper, Addie and Falyn Niemeier, Daxton Banks, Mason and Brooks Marek, Ryan, Brandon and R.J. Wright, and sister-in-laws Betty Bell and Linda Kauzlarich. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Billie, wife Beverly in 2017, daughter-in-law Carol Klumb, sister Jean, twin brother Jim in 2021, infant daughter in 1964, stepson-in-law Glenn Banks Jr., and grandson John Banks.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. Bonaventure Cemetery, Marceline. Visitation will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, June 24, 2022 at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Marceline VFW and mailed to 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.
