Mervin Dale Jones, age 91 of Marceline, died Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City. Mervin was born in Browning, Missouri on November 26, 1930 to Carl and Bernice (Jennings) Jones. He married Shirley Ann Elliott on May 18, 1952.

Mervin owned and operated Jones Body Shop in Marceline for over 54 years. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, Jaycee’s, and First Baptist Church, all of Marceline. He was a Cub Scout leader and was a member of the Marceline Fire Department for many years and had served as Chief. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, gardening and dancing.

He is survived by his son, Kem Jones and wife Margaret, grandson Jeff Jones and fiancé Amanda Moore, granddaughter Michelle Jones all of Kansas City, MO, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Bernice, and wife Shirley.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, September 23, 2022 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with visitation starting at 1 PM. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery north of Browning.
