The annual Saluting our Farmers on Labor Day event will be held in Wheeling on Sept. 2.
The event starts with Baby Show registration at 9 a.m., at the Wheeling Community Center. The contest starts at 9:30 a.m., and will feature the following categories: 0-6 months, 7-12 months, 13-24 months, 2-3-year-old and little Miss and Master. There is a $3 entry fee for contestants.
Parade line-up starts at 10:30 a.m., at the Fire Station and the parade will begin at 11 a.m.
A dinner featuring pulled pork, hash brown casserole, baked beans, other sides and desserts will begin at 12 p.m., at the Wheeling Community Center. The dinner costs $10 per person.
The free-will donation ice cream social will follow the dinner, also in the Community Center. The afternoon will round off with music, bingo, a cakewalk, cornhole tournaments, peddle tractor pull, kids games, bouncy house and vendors.
