Doris Maxine Bell, age 88 of Marceline, died Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Pioneer Skilled Nursing Center, Marceline. Doris was born near Mendon, Missouri on March 20, 1930 to Henry Franklin and Annie Elizabeth (Edemann) Minor. She married Omer Francis Bell on December 31, 1947 and he preceded her in death on January 9, 1990.
Doris was a member of the Westville Circle Club and participated in election polls, worked at Walsworth Publishing and farmed south of Marceline. She enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards (and maybe cheating at them), gardening, fishing and quilting.
She is survived by five sons, Terry, John and Gaye, Roy and Marilyn, Brad, and Steve and Dana Bell, all of rural Marceline, 11 grandchildren, Tina Gladbach and Travis, Tim Bell, Sandy Holladay and Brian, Lydia Bell, Alisha Bell, Cindy LaVier and Kevin, Elizabeth Mossbarger and Phillip, Ben Bell and Kacy, Ethan Bell, Cody Bell and Kyle Bell, twenty-two great grandchildren, Calvin and Ruby Gladbach, Trinity, Theresa, Trysten and Timmy Bell, Teagan and Kale Holladay, Jordan and Chase Bell, Eris and Maverick Bell, Lola and Joey LaVier, Curtis, Justin, John and Katie Mossbarger, Emma, Laina, MaKenna and Maleah Bell, and sister-in-law Garnet Minor. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard “Bun”, William “Bill” and sister-in-law Lois, and Harold Minor.
Funeral services will be at 2 PM Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Delaney Funeral Home in Marceline with visitation from12:30 until time of services. Burial will be in the Bell Cemetery south of Marceline. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and mailed to 1720 N. Missouri Ave., Marceline, MO 64658.
