The Brookfield boys' basketball team, in the wake of troublesome injuries, was unable to get anything going in the early-season Husker Classic in Higginsville this past week, dropping the seventh-place game to Windsor 54-29 on Friday evening.

The Bulldogs remain winless at 0-7, and travel to face Louisiana this Friday night.

Evan Fay, the Bulldogs' best interior defender, was only able to play a little over a quarter of Friday night's game due to lingering back issues.

Brookfield coach Jarod Gillman said that although his team has been solid defensively, the Bulldogs should have been able to compete with Windsor at a higher level.

"They obviously got a hold of our Salisbury film and saw how much trouble their 3-2 zone defense gave us," Gillman said. "We just continue to shoot the ball at such a low percentage and complicate that by turning the ball over at such a high rate. The combination of the two prevents us from being competitive enough to have a chance to win games."

Tim Izard and Derek Liebhart both scored six points for the 'Dogs, and Cooper Cisna finished with five.
