The Marceline boys hit the links at Park Hill on Thursday afternoon, and although the Tigers predominantly competed against much bigger schools, they found a fair deal of success.
The Tigers finished 13th out of 19 schools, and faced competition they would never otherwise see, including nearly every Kansas City school that has a golf program.
The only team of comparable size that traveled to Park Hill on Thursday was Trenton.
Trey Hamilton's 81-stroke round was good for 13th place, and he was the only Tiger in the event to earn a superlative.
Colby Sims shot a 93, Cullen Bruner finished with a 96, and Rylan Chrisman returned to the clubhouse after 102 strokes. Seth Cupp shot a 112.
The Tigers are scheduled to play another round Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. in Columbia in a meet hosted by Father Tolton.
