Marceline senior Colby Sims finished tied for 53rd in the Class 1 state golf meet in Sedalia on Monday and Tuesday. He was the school's lone participant.

Through Monday, Sims was in 48th place at Sedalia Country Club after shooting a 90-stroke 18 holes. By the end of Tuesday, his 95-stroke second round had dropped him five spots.

Eighty-six golfer participated. Bishop LeBlond won as a team at 631 strokes, and Westran was second, 45 strokes behind. Miller's Presten Richardson won the state title with a two-day score of 142.
