On Tuesday evening, the Marceline boys' basketball team fell in a regularly-scheduled matchup to Cairo, 67-45.
Luke Abeln finished with a team-high 12 points and added seven rebounds. Will Heller and Austin Tarpening both managed eight points. Wyatt Molloy finished with seven points and a team-high eight boards. Chris Dixon had six rebounds and added a pair of baskets.
On Wednesday evening, the Tigers played the consolation finals of the reshuffled Macon Invitational Tournament, and fell to the host, 74-48, to finish sixth. Marceline pulled a slight upset of Harrisburg in the consolation semifinal on Saturday.
In Wednesday's game, Sam Gillman posted 13 points, and Abeln finished with 10. Heller managed eight.
Marceline falls to 5-11, and by the time of this publication, will have played at Scotland County in its third Lewis & Clark game of the season.
