Linn County Commission minutes - June 16
The Linn County Commission met on this date with Commissioners King, Brown and Muck and County Clerk Stephenson present. Presiding Commissioner King called the meeting to order. The agenda for June 16, 2020 was reviewed.
Commissioner Muck talked with George Seek regarding Higgins Ditch. Seek’s survey shows that most of the low water crossing is the County’s, his property is on the east side of the creek. It appears to be more of a drainage issue than a road issue.
Shelby Creed was in to get information from the County for debris removal regarding FEMA Disaster #4451-DR. Foreman Meek stated the County is not claiming any damage.
Russell Placzek with Oden Enterprises was in to visit.
Sen. Cindy O’Laughlin and Darrell Gardner, Marceline IDA, were in to visit about various community prospects.
The minutes of the June 9, 2020 meeting were reviewed. Commissioner Brown made a motion to approve and sign the minutes. Commissioner Muck seconded the motion and the motion was passed. Vote recorded: King-yes, Brown-yes and Muck-yes.
Commissioner Brown made a motion to approve bills as submitted for payment. Commissioner Muck seconded the motion and the motion was passed. Vote recorded: King-yes, Brown-yes and Muck-yes.
Back Tax Court Orders were reviewed and signed.
Commissioner Brown checked into placing dehumidifiers on the third floor of the Courthouse. It would take three dehumidifiers at a maximum cost of approximately $400 each. Commissioner were in agreement to purchase.
North Salem township submitted a list of landowners to receive a second brush letter. A call was made to the township for some clarification, township asked to table the matter until they meet again.
A call was made to Jamie Stallo, City of Brookfield, to verify the 911 equipment located in Brookfield City Hall has been disposed of. It has been, Clerk Stephenson will remove from insurance.
A call was made to Clint Roby at NRSC to clarify expiration date on the EWP agreement.
There being no further business, Commissioner King made a motion to adjourn. Commissioner Muck seconded the motion and the motion was passed. Vote recorded: King-yes, Brown-yes and Muck-yes.
