CARES ACT funding available through county
The Linn County Commission reminds city’s, schools and businesses that there are CARES ACT funds available to help with a variety of COVID-19 expenses.
According to Presiding Linn County Commissioner Dick King, the county received just over $1.39 million in CARES ACT funds to be spent in the county for a variety of needs-based on COVID. The funds cannot be used to supplement the county or any city’s budget.
So far, according to King, the county has distributed or spent about $500,000 to the health center, schools and other area businesses and groups.
“There is still money available, and schools, churches, businesses, who have a need because of COVID to reach out to us - fill out an application,” he said.
There is still about $750,000 in funding available, King said. He encourages any eligible entity to submit an application as soon as possible for consideration by the commission.
Applications can be found online at https://linncomo.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/CARES-Act-App.pdf
Applications must be returned to the Linn County Commission by mail: PO Box 92, Linneus, MO 64653 or email: email@example.com.
